Exam Eligible VS Board Eligible
 
1.     Exam Eligible means that a candidate is either:
 
  • in the final year of residency training, has had all previous years of training reviewed and approved by the ACOS RESC and is eligible to take the written examination; or

  • failed to pass a certifying examinations within the 6-year time period designated by the AOA for certification, and is in the process of remediation with plans to complete the examination process.
 
2.     Board Eligible means that a candidate:
 
  • has documented the satisfactory completion of an AOA approved residency, and achieved program complete status from the ACOS RESC;

  • is and remains a member in good standing of the AOA or the Canadian Osteopathic Association;

  • has met all the requirements as established by the AOBS;

  • has applied to and have been accepted into the examination process by the AOBS.
